The US EPA requires vessels sailing in US coastal and inland waters to have a VGP, which will be checked by the US Coast Guard. Samples must be taken for analysis from the effluents: Ballast water, Bilgewater / oily water separator, Graywater and Scrubber water where applicable.
EPA VGP 2013 Compliance Monitoring
All applicable sensors must be calibrated no less frequently than recommended by the sensor or other equipment manufacturer, or or when warranter for calibration.
The main reasons for annual calibration is to ensure compliance with international and regional regulations. Various authorities, like the IMO and United States Coast Guard (USCG), impose stringent standards for the discharge of ballast water to prevent the spread of invasive species.
BWTS Sensors Annual Calibration
The commissioning test requires the discharge samples do not exceed the D-2 standard for the two size classes organisms analyzed (namely ≥ 50 µm and ≥ 10 µm to 50 µm,) and the self-monitoring equipment indicates correct operation.
We hold the approval from all the main class societies in performing the BWTS commissioning test with service stations around far east areas, that able to help ships to comply with relevant regulation/laws at the most convenient ports.

IHM Preparation & Maintenance
The Hong Kong International Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships (HKC), was ultimately enter into force on June 26, 2025. All sea going vessels should carry onboard an authorized Inventory of Hazardous Materials (IHM) (Part I) and an equivalent valid Certificate.
The Hong Kong Convention is aimed at ensuring that ships, when being recycled after reaching the end of their operational lives, do not pose any unnecessary risk to human health and safety or to the environment.
BUSINESS SCOPE
Since 2011 all the materials been applied onboard should be free of asbestos, but many owners have discovered they have the asbestos issues following the IHM investigation.
Owner may acquire an asbestos exemption certificate through flag states according to MSC.1/Circ.1374, but finally owner should consider to remove the asbestos properly without put crews and any party involved under the undue risks within a time frame of 3 years to close the defect.

EGCS Washwater Sampling & Testing
As per EPA VGP 2013 and the RESOLUTION MEPC.340(77) Vessel must collect and analyze the EGCS wash water samples for inlet water (for background), water after the scrubber (but before any treatment system, if applicable), and discharge water, and may be collected as part of the vessel’s annual survey as appropriate.
Whether you’re facing a sudden system shutdown, inconsistent treatment performance, or warning alerts you can’t decode, our ballast water system troubleshooting service is your lifeline. We combine technical expertise, rapid response, and a commitment to your operational success—so you can get back to sailing with confidence.
